TermbookSchool term dates by council

Accessibility statement

Termbook aims to make school term dates and bank holiday information easy to read and use. This statement describes its accessibility features, checks and known limitations.

Using the site

The site works with a keyboard and screen readers. A skip link lets you move past repeated navigation to the main content. Visible focus shows which link or control you have reached when using a keyboard.

The council finder's results are buttons that work with a keyboard. Its countdown is announced to screen readers.

Date tables have headers to help readers understand what each entry means. Text can be enlarged. Light and dark colour schemes follow your device setting.

These features support different ways of reading and moving around the pages. If something prevents you from using the information, please report it.

What was tested

Pages were checked with automated accessibility tests and by hand. These checks help identify barriers, but they do not establish that every visitor will be able to use every part of the site without difficulty.

Known limitations

The site links to documents published by councils and GOV.UK. Those documents are outside the operator's control and may not be accessible.

When JavaScript is turned off, the bank holiday pages display the lists for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland together instead of switching between them through tabs. The lists remain available to read.

Reporting a problem

Email orelzigi2@gmail.com if you find an accessibility problem. Please include the page address and explain what you were trying to do. If relevant, mention your browser or assistive technology.

The standard we aim for

The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. This is the site's accessibility target, rather than a claim that all barriers have been removed.
